Promoting our exhibition
Today we have been trying to promote our exhibition. Children from our class came into school early to hand out flyers to people in the school playground. Have a look to see how we got on...
Remembrance display
This term we have been thinking about remembrance a lot as it has been the 100 year anniversary of World War One and we have also been learning about World War Two.

Mr Chester Visit- Real Learning
Thursday 13th November 2014
Today we had a very special visit from Mr Chester. We are very privatised as Mr Chester was in charge of organising the Western Fronts Remembrance day parade. We had a fantastic time listening to his stories.
First of all we generated lots of questions to ask him. We had many!
He also brought lots of artefacts for us to look at. We found this very interesting and couldn't wait to explore these more.
London
Tuesday 11th November 2014
Today was a very special day as we marked Remembrance Day. It was made even more special by it being the 100 year anniversary of the First World War.
We were honoured to be invited to attend the Cenotaph ceremony in Lobdon. This was a very special moment and we were honoured to be there. We made a wreath and laid this on the Cenotaph during the ceremony.
We looked around before the ceremony and saw the wreaths from the memorial service on Remembrance Sunday.
We then were invited to 10 Downing Street by David Cameron to have our photographs outside. This was such a special moment.

Remembrance
Monday 10th November
Today we have been thinking about remembrance. We have been researching why the poppy is used a symbol and why it is important. The children in Class 9 completed this well and decided on how they would display this. There were some beautiful pieces of work Class 9!
We also dedicated a remembrance cross to someone we knew or all of the fallen soldiers. Here are some examples:
Eden Camp
Thursday 6th November 2014
Today we had the most amazing time on our trip to Eden Camp in Malton.
We went to learn more about World War Two and embed our learning further. I was so proud of my class for how much information they were taking in and how curious they were.
Take a look at some of the photos to see what we did.

Critiquing our poems
Friday 24th October 2014
This week we have been finalising our WW2 poetry. We created multiple drafts to ensure that they were the best quality possible.
One thing that really impressed me Class 9 was the way that you critiqued your poems. You were all really specific and your comments were really helpful. Well done!

Volume of Gas Mask Boxes
23.10.14
This week, we have been learning to calculate the volume. We decided to calculate the volume because we are going to make our own gas mask boxes. We worked hard to compare sizes and calculate effectively.
Well done Kaylee, you calculated well using the method shown.
