The Tsunami in the Indian Ocean...by Holly

The Indian Ocean Tsunami

Today was the day,
I saw them disappear into the deep,
The waves flew past my door,
I told myself it was a dream,
But I guess it wasn't.

Our world is turned upside down!
No feelings stay,
So it stops my way,
Of being happy again.
Everyone's enteral rest has begun.

People try to scream but no noise comes out,
People try to run but their legs don't move,
People try to CRY but no tears come out.
Everyone's departure has begun.

It brought us ENMITY
It brought us APATHY
It brought us MORTALITY
Will Thailand be the same again?

All of a sudden,
The vast wave appeared,
As tall as a ELEPHANT,
As strong as the WIND,
As blue as a LAKE.
This was my first natural disaster!

It was 35ft high,
It blew people back and forth,
Killed people on its route,
Flooding houses,
Breaking cars!
Breaking people's hearts and minds,
Barely anyone survived!

I watched my Dad drift away,
Breaking my heart along with him.
Today was the day,
I saw him disappear into the deep...
But, WAIT!
My Dad MIGHT have survived!

But,
This wasn't a dream,
How I wish it was, though!
