Tsunami by Michael Winter

Wave after death,
Death after wave,
Once is no more,
Will I survive?

Dragged beaten and bruised,
People crying in despair,
What many call a haven,
Now turned into rubble.

Threw around like a ball,
Gulped up by a wave,
Will I survive?
As all hope was lost,
I was pulled out by a mystery figure,
Who knew who he was.

As I climbed to higher ground,
I saw saw family's losing relatives,
Will I survive?
As I climb down i fracture my knee,
And I started to roll,
Firing down into a hole,

Waves crashing into me,
Luckily I could swim,
Or all would be no more,
Will I survive?

With kicking all around me,
What can I do,
This madness was crazy,
Waves bringing victims,
As hungry as a pig,
Swallowing all in its path.

Will I survive a tsunami? By Ben Behan

Will I survive ?
Will I survive ?
A human eating wave,
Will I survive ?

My boneless lime and fractured skull,
Nearly moving legs,
Oh will I survive ?
Will I survive ?

Now it's time he'll has appeared,
My home is swept away,
Right before my eyes,
Oh can I survive ?

My sister has fell into a icey grave,
Oh will I survive ?
NO IM NOT HANGING ON TO THE FIN STRAND OF LIFE,
I WILL DIE!

I jump into a killer wave to end my fail of a life,
But the he grabbed by broosed arms,
He pulled my body of broken bones,
He wriped my dream of death apart!

Now I'm around a fire,
Up in the hills,
The vally of gunby,
But oh yes I did survive!

So learn from the past,
Be tsunami aware!
And care for those in need of aid,
Like me,
The will I survive kid.

Tsunami by Brendon Wilkes

Water water everywhere,
People screaming this is unfair,
The gigantic thing is 35ft tall,
And I am only very small.

Run run if you want to survive,
Before you go to the afterlife,
I can see people trying to hold on,
But not long after they are gone.

Can YOU save us,
We don't know,
The answer is ither yes or NO.

The damage caused is attrocious,
So two young lads are raising money,
For the poor poor land,
The charity is called gandeys flip flops,
And too be honest the money pops.

The poor land,
Is now destroyed,
By the horrible...

People were running,
And running,
But didn't make it.

This chamber of horror,
Is a non-stop downfall,
People terminate to darkness,
When a ... Happens.

I was watching it on television,
And saw it come,
I hid in my room,
Feeling sorry for the people who lost their lives,
Because after all it wasn't then.

couldn't bare seeing people die,
It was the worst,
My mum asked me what was up,
And my reply was goodnight.

On Boxing Day,
People remember the year 2004,
It brings tears,
Because of the remembrance,
Of the TSUNAMI!!!!

Language Features

This week we have been writing persuasive arguments. We were answering the question: Should we test on animals?

The children had many different opinions and it caused a lot of healthy debate in our classroom. We looked at both sides of the arguments and children made their mind up and began to write their persuasive argument.

To up level their writing we looked at some higher level language features. We looked in particular at word choice/register. The children did such a fantastic job. We even tried to up level writing from the animal campaigners PETA. Have a look and see what you think.

Well done Holly and Ellie- such fantastic examples!

Mean, Median and Mode

We had a brilliant time in maths today learning about Mean, median and mode. We first recalled what they meant and discovered that when we know we can let people know very loudly and very clearly!! You showed excellent knowledge Class 9 I must say.

We had an excellent time measuring and finding averages of body parts in our class. We found out that I do not have the biggest head in the class. We also discovered average lengths and used these to order sets of data. Well done Class 9- excellent and fun!

Our New Classroom

This term we will be focussing on answering the question:

How can we ensure that the planet is protected?

The children were given the topic and wanted to learn about how humans can effect the planet. The children wanted to learn about the following: the Titanic, 9/11, animal testing and natural disasters. We will be looking at how and why all of these events effect the planet. Such an interesting project class 9 well done!
