Memories of 1498 by Gwire

Memories of 1498

The wave,
The wave of pure havoc.
The place returned to nature.
A connoisseur of dread and destruction.

It ate anything,
Everything!
I' man victim of the sorrow,
That happened on the morrow.

It was a messenger,
With a message of vengeance.
It was a dispatcher,
Dispatching pain.

Wading through the inland flood,
Hoping for no next round.
Why me?
Please no more…

Trying to acknowledge this,
Is too hard for me.
The perimeter is a grisly spectacle,
I won"t become part of it.
Not yet…

The next wave came crashing in,
Higher than before.
I will not win,
Because it came for more.

The wave,
The wave of pure havoc.
It's only the beginning,
Of the END.

Will I Survive? By Connor

Will I survive?
Will I survive?
The pain of my loved ones being washed away like it was nothing the pain of my one home destroyed.
Will I survive?
Will I survive?

A 50 feet of terror,
Marching this way taking people in its way.
Will I survive
Will I survive
People running everywhere people running in disappear.

My broken leg and my fractured head.
What can I do
I want to see the light of another  day.
I limped and limped threw the street looking for survives to help and meat.
I am in pain,terror .
A huge  shadow covers the sun wait thats a tsunami RUN.
Will I survive?...

Im drowning I need air .
I see the light its right their.
I see my families face its drags me up to a warm place...
I see my family face but it strikes again...

A glimpse of my daughter drowning down their.
I drag her up but Im to late .
I did survive but she did not...

Our guides to love and loss...

Today we have been reading our novel study book- Wonder.

We have been reading about when Auggie lost his dog Daisy. In this chapter it talks about when he found out that she had died, what his feelings were and his thoughts about heaven.

We made our own guides to love and loss, thinking about feelings, happy thoughts and how we can keep their memory alive. I was so impressed and touched by some of the guides that I had to share them. You are so thoughtful Class 9!

Exploring calculating....

I am so proud of my SATS group this week. We have been working hard to discuss what we needed to learn and revise.

We decided to work on missing number problems and explaining our answers including how we chose our operations for calculating.

Well done- you are all amazing!

Hurricane Katrina by Kelsey

Hurricane Katrina

page1image1040
Hurricane has left water, water everywhere,
Just rubble everywhere HELP,HELP,HELP, what do I do? People where shocked!

5:10am it all started
The wave came over like a big black cloud in the sky, Screaming, screaming no one here, no one there
I am sat on my roof watching the hurricane pass by me,

People were swept away!

My brother tried to get on the roof, he was swept away

I feel confused, petrified, crazy,
I am going to die like a soldier at war!
Am I going to die?

It ended on August 31st 2005
It went on for 9 long days
Horrible, hurricane hates houses
The hurricane growled at me as it whistled past my house I found out my best friend was gone
He is dead or has he been swept away?

The Tsunami March by Charlie

The Tsunami March

The waves marched by the promenade made by,
the complicable shore,
The voices screams "AHHHHHHHHH"

The Tsunami, 35ft High,
As tall as a flat,
They share a tear as shudders pass by,
Will anybody survive?

Error, error, error,
Terror near by,
While feelings are BLUBBERING,
They shout "AHHHHHHHH'

Waves are arising, while people are SCREAMING,
Ahhh wave near by.

While the waves disperse,
They all gave a loud cheer,
Whilst the wave flew by,
Everyone jumped high in the sky.

The wave promenaded once again,
Whilst coming to an END!
Whilst people shout "Goodbye."

The Tsunami in the Indian Ocean...by Holly

The Indian Ocean Tsunami

Today was the day,
I saw them disappear into the deep,
The waves flew past my door,
I told myself it was a dream,
But I guess it wasn't.

Our world is turned upside down!
No feelings stay,
So it stops my way,
Of being happy again.
Everyone's enteral rest has begun.

People try to scream but no noise comes out,
People try to run but their legs don't move,
People try to CRY but no tears come out.
Everyone's departure has begun.

It brought us ENMITY
It brought us APATHY
It brought us MORTALITY
Will Thailand be the same again?

All of a sudden,
The vast wave appeared,
As tall as a ELEPHANT,
As strong as the WIND,
As blue as a LAKE.
This was my first natural disaster!

It was 35ft high,
It blew people back and forth,
Killed people on its route,
Flooding houses,
Breaking cars!
Breaking people's hearts and minds,
Barely anyone survived!

I watched my Dad drift away,
Breaking my heart along with him.
Today was the day,
I saw him disappear into the deep...
But, WAIT!
My Dad MIGHT have survived!

But,
This wasn't a dream,
How I wish it was, though!

The Hurricane by Micah

The hurricane Katrina left
Water, water, everywhere
August 23rd 2005 it started
People was shocked!

The wind is blowing on and on again
I can not see ever again!
The wind is blowing in my face
I feel like Im getting chased!

Help! Help! What do i do?

The hurricane Katrina is a vilan, destroying all of the houses.
The hurricane Katrina is rumbling too much
Would that be you?
The waves were waving at me until they had taken me
Feeling, terrified , petrified!

The Big Blue by Joshua

Big Blue Monster

Oh no!
Oh dear!
He has come to us!
To visit and destroy!

Oh no!
The monster appeared,
Everybody is running to and fro,
The monster is getting nearer.

Running like a madman,
The monster approaching like a villain,
Screams when the monster jumped
out of the water, blue as rain

Oh dear!
The monster is
getting near
to my beloved family!

Run Run!
There is no escape,
The country is concealed,
Like a cape,

Wait!
The monster went,
But I hear weeps,
It gives me the creeps...

Always remember,
To help them in need,
Because in 2004, December,
This is people's story...

The Terrifying Tsunami by Ellie

The
TERRIFYING
Tsunami!

DEATH- There was a lot of it,
On 26th December 2004,
Indonesia, Thailand and Shralanka,
And many more countries were demolished!
Sorrow came to many countries and people that day...

People easily found heartache!
Many families houses were demolished,
On that dreadful- dreadful day!

People wondering what to do,
Wondering where to go,
People yelling and SCREAMING!
Lots of people washed away by one huge immense wave!

WATER,WATER , everywhere,
People running in dispare,
A wave,
35ft high!
Ripping lives apart!

Killing over 200,000 people,
There kind-hearted hearts met grief and sorrow,
Also inside TORTURE!

People shouting,
HELP ME,
HELP ME,
WHAT DO I DO?

It was rated 9.0,
On the Richter scale.
How would YOU feel?

All who died now live in peace,
From that dreadful (horrible) Tsunami,
Who died,
Live in peace,
All alone,
On their own!

A 35ft high wave,
As tall as a block of flats,
It was like the wave,
Was waving to all of the people!

It was like the sea committed a crime,
When it washed into land it was full of slime!
The huge wave came into land,
Many people were washed away!

Just remember on 26th of December 2004,
All countries were washed by one huge wave,
What would YOU do?
DEATH there was too much of it!

By Ellie Marshall

Tsunami by Jack W and Jack F

Water water everywhere,
People scream this I un-fair,
The wave is 35 ft tall and I'm very small,
People screaming in fear
Help they cried.

Will I survive?
Will I survive?
Please help us in this tsunami,
Will I survive?

Wave after wave death after,
Death slowly drifting away,
My body smashing against (past) the rock,
Solid rocks /walls.
(OW this hurts).

Wave wave,
A gigantic wave,
It all most feels like a maze,
Help help,
Please help me.

Run,dart,break away,
When the ground shakes the seas about to rumble,
Run away from the wave,
Of darkness.

Higher higher,
Will it never end,
Will it go down?

What will happen next?
What will happen next?
Another one!
What will happen next?

Water, water everywhere,
In the street in the cars just flooding everywhere,
We're DEMANDING! to escape,
The nasty tsunami,

Yes I survived
Yes I survived
Yes
Yes I survived

By Jack Williams and Jack Forester
